Let the kids have a fun learning experience at Crayola Factory while you your around the city with your kids in a Pennsylvania charter bus

Kids Fun with Crayola

Feb 28, 2014

For a family fun time in Pennsylvania, how about heading over to the Crayola factory in Easton? Crayola is a part of many children’s life, and it would be great if the little ones can have a hands-on tour of this great family attraction.

The Crayola Experience

The Crayola Factory is not a factory at all. Some machines are placed in a demonstration area where charter bus visitors, both adults and children, can see buckets of piping hot melted wax poured into molds to make Crayola crayons. Don’t worry about safety here since everyone is placed behind plexiglass shields so they won’t get splashed by the hot wax or even go near it.

The main highlight of the Crayola Experience is an area called the Crayola Meltdown. At this area, the kids get to dip long Q-tips into pots of melted crayons from behind a plexiglass; all this to create their own art with these Crayola dipped bits.

Things to see

Other than the tour experience, there are also other interesting sights to see at the Crayola Factory. Some of them are:

  • The World Largest Crayon: Located at the cafe, this giant Crayola crayon is 15-foot long, and weighs 1,500 pounds. Made in 2003 from the leftover scraps of Crayola kids sent from around the country.
  • Crayola Hall of Fame: Eight of the colors that have been retired by Crayola is enshrined here.
  • Crayola Chronology: Mini bus rental visitors can find the history of Crayola here including some interesting artifacts on exhibit, including the paraffin-splattered shoes of Emerson Mosler who made more than 1.4 billion crayons while working at the factory for 37 years.

Don’t forget to head to the gift shops to buy souvenirs of your visit such as Crayola logoed clothings, candy and toys at the Museum Shop, or head to the Crayola Store that sells many different sizes of crayons, from mini to large.
